AFOCR 30 Years Strong –Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future

Since its founding, AFOCR has played a pivotal role in advancing shared democratic values and promoting transatlantic cooperation. Among its proudest achievements is championing the Czech Republic’s admission into NATO, a historic step that reinforced the bonds of security and partnership between our nations.

Our anniversary celebration will be a night to honor our history and the accomplishments that have shaped Czech–American relations, to recognize distinguished supporters whose dedication has made our mission possible and to look ahead to new opportunities for collaboration in the years to come.

This milestone celebration was marked by a special honor: AFOCR’s founders—Milton Cerny, Robert Doubek, and Philip Kasik— received the Distinguished Contribution to Diplomacy Medal.

This prestigious award is the highest non-presidential recognition granted by the Government of the Czech Republic for contributions in diplomacy. Past recipients include Madeleine Albright, Karel Schwarzenberg, Lord George Robertson, Javier Solana, and our fellow director George Drost.

We are profoundly grateful for our founders’ vision, dedication, and leadership over the past three decades.
