AFoCR Highlights 30 Years of Impact at EU Open House
We shared the organization’s 30-year history and exciting plans for the future with hundreds of visitors.
During this year’s EU Open House at the Czech Embassy in Washington, DC, AFoCR Directors shared the organization’s 30-year history and exciting plans for the future. Held on May 10, 2025, the event drew over 3,000 guests and sparked lively conversations and thoughtful questions about AFoCR’s mission, legacy, and ongoing projects.
Set against the Embassy’s powerful theme—commemorating the 80th anniversary of the defeat of fascism—the day offered an immersive journey through Czech and American history. Attendees explored details of liberation of the Pilsen region by US troops, with authentic WWII-era radio broadcasts, military jeeps and tents, and even a Czech resistance-themed video game.
AFoCR was honored to contribute to this celebration of freedom, democracy, and transatlantic friendship. We extend our thanks to the Czech Embassy for hosting and to everyone who joined us to learn more about our work and shared history.
