The Invitation to WW Monument Dedication Events

Colleagues and Friends,

As most of you know by now, the Woodrow Wilson Monument will be dedicated in Prague on October 5, 2011. The plans are now in place for the dedication and all the exciting and fun events.

You are all cordially invited to be a witness to history and join with us in the historic dedication ceremony and commemorative events. The Spring AFoCR Newsletter lists the events.

We are pleased to provide everyone with access to information about the events using our web-based systems. All you need to register for dedication events is a connection to the net. Enter the AFoCR main website at www.afocr.org and click the picture of the astronomical clock to view a listing by date of all the Wilson Dedication events. Or just click:

http://www.afocr.org/woodrow-wilson-dedication-events.html

Each event has its own registration button. There is a Wilson-Masaryk Symposium, a Wilson Masaryk Historical Exhibit, a Gala Award Dinner, Ballet at the National Theater, even a golf tournament—yes golf is becoming more popular in the Czech Lands.

Many events are free, but registration is requested for even the free events. For the events with some cost we created a simple process for registration on our website and follow-up with an email confirmation offering options to pay either by check or by our secure credit card site. We have arranged with a well-regarded Prague travel and tour agency to obtain hotel reservations at a discounted price. Those are accessible through our website (click on “Important Information” and navigated down the page to the accommodation descriptions, or just click:

http://www.visitprague.cz/en/hotels/woodrow-wilson-monument-dedication.html

We are pleased that the Polasek Museum (Debbie Komanski, Director) has arranged with a travel agent to offer a 10 day tour during October which includes hotel accommodations and tours outside of Prague as well as registrations to the Dedication Events. The attached brochure describes their tour and has an option for including airline reservations in the package.

Whatever way you come, be there to become part of this historic event and join the fun. This will be the Czech-US event of the year, arguably the decade!

And don’t forget to join us on Facebook for the most recent updates!

Don’t miss it. See you in Prague.
