Jack Stack

Jack Stack

AFoCR Director Patricia Stack lived in Prague with her husband, banker Jack Stack, from 2000 through 2007. While Mr. Stack served as CEO of Česka Spořitelna, the Czech Republic’s largest retail bank, Mrs. Stack participated extensively in various civic organizations, including the International Women’s Association of Prague, serving as President for two years and Editor of the organization’s monthly magazine for an additional year. Mrs. Stack also held the position of President of the Money Club, Ladies Division, a civic arm of Česka Spořitelna. The Money Club sponsored numerous and varied cultural educational opportunities for women who held leading professional roles in Prague. Mrs. Stack also served on the Czech Fulbright Commission, a program that enables graduate students, young professionals and artists to conduct research and study in the United States.

Mrs. Stack grew up in New York City. She received her BA from Manhattanville College and her MA from Columbia University’s Teacher’s College. Prior to departing for Prague, she taught 8th grade English for several years in New York. In an earlier life stage, she worked for the City of New York’s Environmental Protection Administration, specializing in water resources.

Patricia Stack has been married to Jack Stack for 38 years. They are the parents of a daughter who is a television journalist in New York and the proud grandparents of two-year-old Asher Jack, who has already learned how to say ahoj with a good Czech accent.
