George Drost

George Drost

AFoCR Director, George Drost is an attorney with Drost, Kivlahan, McMahon & O'Connor LLC, a prominent law firm in the Chicago area. Mr. Drost concentrates in estate planning, corporate law, and international law. He is experienced in a variety of sophisticated estate planning and wealth transfer techniques, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, family limited partnerships, charitable gift planning, and tax qualified plan distributions. Mr. Drost has also been involved in establishing succession plans for several multi-million dollar corporate clients.

Mr. Drost worked for three years as an attorney for the Internal Revenue Service of the United States Treasury Department. He then became Assistant General Counsel and Vice President of Real Estate for the DoALL Company until 1985 when he founded George T. Drost and Associates, Ltd. Mr. Drost serves as Chair, Arlington Heights Plan Commission; holds a position as Adjunct Professor, John Marshall Law School; served as a Director, CoVest Banc (1987-2003); and served as Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic for Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.

Mr. Drost received his A.B. degree from Augustana College in 1969 and his J.D. degree from DePaul University in 1972.

Since 1989, Mr. Drost has been active in several initiatives to better relations between the Czech Republic and United States including the Council of Higher Education and in Chicago-Prague Sister Cities program.

Mr. Drost resides in Arlington Heights with his wife, Beth. They have three grown children and six grandchildren.
