Robert W. Doubek

AFoCR Secretary and past President, Robert W. Doubek is with the U.S. State Department where he buys and sells real property worldwide for diplomatic use.c

He co-founded the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund in April, 1979, and served as the Fund’s Executive Director and Project Director until completing the memorial mid-1983. He directed projects for real estate development companies in the Washington metropolitan area from 1983 to 1994, and from 1994 to 1996, traveled extensively in Central and Eastern Europe, managing USAID programs in real estate and housing.

He founded AFoCR in 1995 and served as its president through the end of 1998. He was instrumental in mobilizing public support for Czech admission to NATO.

Mr. Doubek received a B.A. from the University of Illinois (Urbana) in 1966, and served as an Air Force intelligence officer from 1967 to 1971, with a year in Vietnam. He received a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1974, and is proficient in Russian, German, French and Czech.
